Equine Assisted Services
Equine Assisted Services is separated into Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP™️) and Trauma-Informed Equine Assisted Learning (TI-EAL). Our TF-EAP™️ sessions take place with a licensed or license-eligible mental health professional, an equine professional, and one or more horses. We provide psychotherapy in partnership with horses using the Natural Lifemanship process integrated with other natural horsemanship modalities, including Carolyn Resnick Method. We are trained to use an approach that incorporates principles of Natural Lifemanship‘s Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP™️) and natural horsemanship throughout all of our programs. Our equine-assisted programs go beyond traditional therapy approaches and allows clients the experience of ‘learning by doing’ as they form positive relationships with their chosen horse. The client can then understand and apply skills and principles to other relationships in their lives. This unique program provides opportunities for self-reflection and self-awareness, while developing more positive relational interactions.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can be beneficial for people of all ages and help with:
- Sensory integration for calming and bringing the focus into the body’s senses
- Focusing on the here and now
- Connecting with your surroundings
- Safely building a partnership with your horse using principles that can be applied to healthy human relationships
- Learning skills to self-regulate

Individual, group and family counseling (EAP)
Individual, group or family sessions using EAP techniques described above. We believe that EAP can help anyone who is open to trying new things and receiving honest feedback from horses and staff. EAP sessions are designed to address a variety of mental, emotional, and spiritual health issues. These sessions are usually 50 – 100 minutes in length and are usually scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on our clients’ specific goals and commitment.
Team building, leadership and communication workshops for groups, families and social organizations (EAL)
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is similar to EAP; however, the focus is more on team building, communication or educational goals.
Primarily group sessions using EAL techniques described above. If your organization is struggling with communication, needs a fun way to build positive group dynamics, or a way to develop a stronger, more cohesive team, we can help! These activities are full-day or half-day events designed specifically to meet your organization’s goals.
